Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born on August 19 1965 is an American actress. She also works as a producer and director. She is best known for her leading role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. Following the seventh season, Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The series ended August 13th on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring character as Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other roles in films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992), Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, an therapist for speech and family, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV Venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish was of English and Episcopalian origins. Sedgwick has openly declared her Jewish roots and stated that she is a part of Passover seders.
